Khador Gun Carriage

Wohoo it's finally finished!

Without further explanations, here it is:

It was fun to paint something bigger for a change. (Although the horses almost drove me nuts). It's pretty nice looking model and feels heavy once you pick it up.

I decided to paint it looking like it just came out of the factory, so I didn't put any battle damage on it. Only thing that I did was give it some dusting with black pigments, to simulate the guns residue getting everywhere.

Putting it all together once it was painted was a chore in itself. The carriage and horses are pinned with 8 pins to the base. One pin for every wheel and hoove that touches the ground. (and the horses are pinned to the carriage as well).

Spent so much time with this one that I think it's going to be included in most of my lists for a while. :p

Anyhow, fun model to paint and it definitely gives you some of that "centerpiece -model" feel.

Picked up some Cygnar

Picked up some new stuff a while back after a long hiatus:

But the "big" thing is, that I yet again branched out to a new faction:

I just had to get the battlegroup as it was on sale. I am very tempted to get the Stormwall also as It's a great looking model.

I allready assembled the minis (minus the Ironclad), but I haven't started painting them yet. Have to decide what kind of bases I want to do to them first. :)

Stryker is a very nice sculpt, I am pretty impressed on Privateer Presses plastic minis.

Right now my mind is set to finish my gun carriage before I start anything new. It's pretty far along, I just need to do some basing and highlights etc.

A lot going on regarding the boardgames also, as I recently acguired some new stuff. More on those later in more detail.

Anyhow, still alive and kicking. Just been very busy lately. (Man I am so waiting for my vacation, still have to wait for two weeks though).

Working area

Hi everyone and happy easter! I decided to show you my working area where I do my modelling.

I have actually crammed a lot of stuff into the old painting table from GW. For it's size it holds a lot of stuff, so It's usually looking horribly messy.
I hold the table in my "computer-room" next to my pc as you can see. That's why I have crammed everything on to the table, so I can lift the whole thing and hide it into my closet when I don't need it.

Also includes a sneak peek of my work in progress BE:

I have some more paints, brushes, foliage etc in different containers. On the table I hold mostly only the stuff that I use regularly. As you can see I still have a lot of the old paints from GW, but I am slowly shifting into Vallejoes and PP:s stuff.

Believe it or not I also do my airbrushing here in the same place and it works like a charm. :)

My assistant that likes to watch me paint:

Cat's name is Nikolai, as it's of a breed called: Russian blue. (Just between you and me, It's not a very good assistant.. it pokes every small bit on the table, and it keeps trying to drink my brushwater from the cup).

So what do you think of the workplace? Do you have a dedicated working area, or do you resort to a similar setup of mine that you can hide away as necessary?

Thanks for looking and again: Happy easter everyone! :)

Warmachine: Khador

Hi all. Since this is a new site for me and all, I decided to publish some older pictures here. It get's you up to speed on my paintings. Since Khador was my first step into the Iron Kingdoms and Warmachine in general, I decided to start there.

These are my painted Khador miniatures for now in no apparent order:

Warcasters:

Butcher of Khardov

Orsus and his Destroyer

Warjacks:

Destroyer

Spriggan

Units:

Shocktroopers

Great Bears of Gallowswood
Kayazy assassins

Solos:

Widowmaker Marksman

Manhunter
Kayazy assassin Underboss
Wardog

Thats all for now. I will also do similar post for my painted Trollbloods, but there are a few models that I want to take better pictures first.

Now the blog seems to turn up very pic heavy, but is that ok for you guys? I'd appreciate some feedback on is the blog too heavy for you. Other option is to post the pictures here smaller, so you can click them to get a better view, but which do you think is better?

Anyway, thx for looking.

It's alive...alive!

Huzzah! I Finally managed to start up the blog. My plan is to keep this as a look into my hobby-corner. Im an enthusiastic miniature-painter and I also have some focus for boardgames. As a youngster I played and painted poorly some miniature-games, but eventually the inspiration came to an end. Only few years ago I decided to pick up the brush again and start painting miniatures. Been enjoying it a lot since then, and my plan is just to keep painting/playing and improve on my skills.

At the moment I focus just on Privateer Press's Warmachine and Hordes. I collect and own armies for Khador, Cryx and Trollbloods, allthough Im sure the amount of armies I own will surely expand as time goes by. I enjoy the game a lot, allthough to be honest I spend a LOT more time painting my miniatures than actually playing with them. I have a full time job so my time is limited, but I try to get things done even if it's just baby-steps. (I can't remember the amount of times I promised myself: "I will buy new miniatures only when I get these done", but I always fail miserably and I have a ton of stuff unpainted).

Actually the biggest intrest I had in making this blog, was to make some painting-videos.  I enjoy watching Les's Awesomepaintjob-videos and I decided to give it a shot myself. Now I'm not a professional painter by any means, but I have some tools and tricks up my sleeves, and I just enjoy painting miniatures.
Now I allready filmed the painting process when I painted my Impaler, and I'm now in the process of editing the video. I'm a total newb when it comes to editing, so it might take some time to get the videos up and running. My plan is to split the video in two parts, but we will see.

As a "sneak peek" of what to expect from the video here's a picture of the painted Impaler with it's big brother:

I post and update stuff irregularly for now. But as I said earlier I try to get things done, and when I do I will post them here first. My intention is to post a lot of pictures and videos on this blog, as that's the thing I enjoy most about in blogs. So I hope you stop by again and stick around for some tabletop-goodness from my part of the world!
